McKenzie brings over 12 years of professional climbing experience and more than 7½ years of running a successful tree service business in Oregon. Now based in Hawaii and leading Rooted Tree Care, McKenzie continues to provide expert, safety-focused tree services with a deep respect for both the trees and the land. With a background in technical removals, precision pruning, and emergency storm response, McKenzie’s reputation is built on honesty, hard work, and a passion for arboriculture that spans two states and diverse ecosystems.
Beyond the canopy, McKenzie is a devoted husband and proud father of three children. Together, they embrace island life with gratitude, adventure, and a shared love for Hawaii’s natural beauty. Rooted Tree Care is where skill meets aloha — and where family values grow as deeply as the roots they care for.
Meet Sebastian Owner Operator/ Climber & Equipment Specialist
Meet Sebastian, the owner of Rooted Tree Care, is a dedicated climber and equipment specialist with over seven years of experience in forestry. His background spans service with the National Park System, wildland firefighting, and three years with a local tree company—giving him a deep understanding of both the science and the art of tree care.
Born and raised in Hilo, Sebastian takes pride in caring for the island’s trees and supporting the community that shaped him. His approach blends technical expertise, safety, and respect for Hawai‘i’s unique environment, ensuring every job helps keep Hilo’s landscape strong, healthy, and thriving.
